I have added several Etsy Shop.     My Whimsy Art Studio

 Here's a sampling:
This is mail art and you'll find it in my Etsy Shop My Whimsy Art Studio (click on the link above)  The envelope measures about 8 1/2" x 5 3/4".  The card is blank and is a print of one of my pieces of gorgeous art work!  Right?  It, as you can see is a matched set.

This is one where I splashed on lots of water and used watercolor paints.  When it was dry, I could see trees, bushes and rocks.  See it?  I finished it off with zentangle art using a permanent pen.

Hope you like my shop and visit often.  "Favorite" my shop and any of the offerings.  Please.

Have a wonderful day,

Kathy,

Watercolor Art Work

This is another watercolor I did in a class.  What we did was make a black and white color copy and then traced all the black areas.  Then those areas were filled in with ink.  You can see some of my ink dried dull and some not so dull.  The rest was watercolor painting.  This picture was taken on a hike while on vacation in Maui, Hawaii.  It was a very fun class and I was amazed it was "OK" to trace.  She was an artist in many galleries in the Kirkland, WA area at the time so guess it isn't a bad thing to do.

This one was done about the same time I did the hollyhocks.  I was actually painting on silk at the time and this was a pattern I drew up for silk painting and then used it for watercolor.  I love love love it!

Now I need to go design another composition for my next watercolor.

Have a fun day!

Kathy

Art Work to Share

I can't believe it's been almost one whole year since I last posted any of my art.  Or posted at all!  Where has the year gone?  I've done a lot of art work but guess I've been too lazy to share it.

Where do I begin?  I hate posts that go on and on with huge long paragraphs.  I get bored.  I see that and won't even read it!  I wonder how many are like me that way.  So you hopefully, will never find that here.

I think I have to go back to my bead making days.  I love making paper beads but my box is overflowing with them and I can't use them all so I stopped.

So here's my watercolor paintings, just two of them for now.

This is my favorite flower or the one I remember when I was a child.  We actually were afraid of going near them because the really do attack bees.  These are my hollyhocks.  I didn't realize till recently, I love love love vibrant colors.  Some of that is coming.

This painting was done several years ago when I went to a watercolor class, which I forgot I attended.  Must have been in the 90s and it looks like our assignment was do paint a doorway.

Come back often and see more.  I promise I"ll post more often.  Have an awesome day.

Paper Beads! Can't stop Making Them

Well, we can't complain about the rain here in Maple Valley, WA since we had only one day of rain all winter in El Centro.  It's a good excuse to stay home and drink hot tea and snuggle up with a good book.  Normally.

But I"m not normal.  I've been making paper beads for the last few days and listed a few on Ebay.  See HERE and scroll down a bit.

 or HERE

They are addicting!  I can't stop making them.  I'm making some pendants, too.

Arts Mixed Media Painting Journaling

Art, mixed media, painting and Journaling is what has consumed my time lately.  I've decided to show off some of my art work on this blog.  I have been an artist for many years and have revived this wonderful and fun craft.  So I hope you'll come back and see my work.

Here's my first art post.

What I did was start with watercolor paper meant for a journal.  I layered on acrylic paint, glued some torn tissue paper,  dribbled paint down from the top on the left painting and added some detail with colored pencils and stencils.

I hope my photography techniques improves.  These were taken with my phone camera and later I will do them all again using my digital camera.  Hopefully, they'll come you much better.

So, if you have any questions, or want to comment, please do so.  And I thank you for visiting.  I'll be updating the photo.

Have a wonderful "artful" day.

Kathy
